Accesing gtalk from pidgin wihtout proxy software
Posted by: Shanky in Shanky, linux, windows, tags: gtalk, pidgin(for details refer to post :How To make pidgin(gtalk) work behind a proxy
http://techfreaks4u.com/blog/?p=78 )
In pidgin goto
accounts >Add Account >Add >
then set Protocol : “Google Talk”
Screen Name is :Login
Local Alias : “Leave It Empty” , it hardly matters
in Advanced Tab
check Require SSL/TLS
Connect Port : 443 instead of 5222 if you are behind a firewall/proxy
and in Proxy Options Set it to whatever proxy you have … this works behind “cyberoam” proxy server as i have tested it .. infact even if you logout from login account due to some fault in “cyberoam” it keeps you logged in even after that.
